New Patrick Wolf track is wonderful, as expected. He might be the most pretentious east London kid going, but at the end of the day he is a very talented boy and he continues to sound refreshingly unique in a culture overflowing with repetition and bored noise.

(Plus the opening chords to this track are very Twin Peaks. Which is a great thing)

Brian Fallon

I spend most of my facebook/twitter time gushing about Brian Fallon, as you may well know, so apologies if you’re not a fan. But then again, I’m not that sorry.

I could watch/listen to this man perform all day. He’s probably the most genuine, passionate and likeable rock star around, and he cheers me up on pretty much a daily basis. He’s not even the most talented musician, as you’ll see that he sometimes messes up lyrics or changes key when he sings, but for some reason it doesn’t matter at all. He’s just a really normal guy and he doesn’t seem to expect anything or take anything that he’s acheived for granted. He feels like one of the only true rock stars out there at the minute, and I really think we could do with a few more artists like him. Such a lovely man.

Anyway here are a few of my favourite Brian Fallon performances and interviews. Nothing will make you happier than the performce with Bruce Springsteen at the bottom…

I’ve been listening to Bright Eyes loads again recently. I mean, I’m always listening to Bright Eyes but I go through really full on stages of some things and recently my obsessions have been between youtubing videos of Brian Fallon doing acoustic performances…and Bright Eyes.

God damn, I love Conor Oberst.
